Commitment to the Environment

“The U.S. Green Building Council is the nation’s foremost coalition of leaders working to transform the way buildings and communities are designed, built and operated, enabling environmentally and socially responsible, healthy and prosperous environment that improves the quality of life.”

Devel Construction, Inc is a member of the U.S. Green Building Council. Our personnel are actively pursuing LEED training courses to further our knowledge of high performance buildings and their construction in order to provide our customers with sustainable construction alternatives for any type of construction project.

Devel Construction has participated in several projects where environmental stewardship and energy conservation was a priority. Our experience ranges from Ice Storage Systems that reduce peak energy consumption to solar power projects to the installation of building management systems. Devel Construction actively seeks to partner with clients interested in obtaining LEED certification for their projects.

“The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System™ is the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction, and operation of high performance green buildings. LEED gives building owners and operators the tools they need to have an immediate and measurable impact on their buildings’ performance. LEED promotes a whole-building approach to sustainability by recognizing performance in five key areas of human and environmental health: sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection, and indoor environmental quality”

In addition, Devel Construction personnel throughout the organization are active in pursuing opportunities to recycle and reuse equipment and materials wherever possible. In addition to segregating construction debris for recycling purposes, we search out opportunities to keep materials from the landfill that can be re-used in other places. For example, DCI personnel arranged for several pieces of industrial kitchen equipment to be donated to a non-profit organization, thus avoiding the need to recycle or discard of it. In addition, we have managed equipment auctions for shuttered facilities to help avoid having to dispose of the assets
