History
Devel Construction, Inc. was incorporated in 1986 by Robert Pittman, Ron Casella and Jim Holman. The Trio, having extensive knowledge and experience in the semiconductor industry, built the foundation of the company around the construction of Clean Rooms and related structural work and tenant improvements. In early 2000, much of the Silicon Valley’s manufacturing began to shift overseas, and with it went the demand for clean room construction.
Devel Constructions, Inc. had the foresight to understand the evolving Silicon Valley and the common sense to understand that if they were to continue to survive in the ever changing California economy they would have to re-invent themselves, which proved to be a wise step in the right direction.
A business that currently preformed 70% of its work in the area of Clean Room construction and over $20 million in revenue now turned its focus to Data Center, Medical and Dental, Commercial buildings, Tenant Improvement, Mission Critical Facilities and other forms of commercial construction.
Ken Birdsall, the present owner of Devel Construction, Inc. started as an apprentice carpenter with the firm in May of 1990, he quickly was promoted to Project Engineer then to Assistant Project Manager and then Project Manager with in the five years.
In 1999 Devel Construction offered Ken a partnership and title of Vice President, and by December of 2005, Ken bought out his partners, and became the sole owner.
The philosophy at the origin of Devel Construction, Inc. is to focus oncustomer service and building long term relationships, which is a commitment that has traveled with Devel Construction and remains the commitment of the company today.
Currently employing over thirty seven people and Celebrating its 25th year anniversary, Ken firmly believes that Devel Construction, Inc. has weathered through the bad economy and succeeded in still having successful, profitable years because of their commitment to customer service. This philosophy is not only held by Ken, but is also embraced throughout the Devel Team.
